Jo Beth had donated blood regularly back in Ohio, and she
assumed she'd do the same in Los Angeles.   She was surprised
when she went to donate.   They turned her down!

"You have to weigh at least 100 pounds."

Jo Beth laughed.  She told the donation lady that she had
weighed 123 pounds "in the buff" since college--a weight she
was really happy with, at her height of 5'7".   She never had to
watch what she ate, and she had a huge appetite.   Even while
running, her weight had stayed the same.  She didn't gain, and
she didn't lose.  She was just born lucky.

The lady made Jo Beth step on a scale.   Surprise!  She
weighed 110 pounds--less than she'd weighed as a highschool
freshman.  (Or freshwoman.)

No WONDER she'd dropped from a size 8 to a size 4...
