Jo Beth had always had the baby-barfs, as far back as she could
remember.   If she ate something sweet first thing in the
morning, and then bent over to tie her shoes or pick something
up, a small amount of breakfast would gently roll back up her
throat and into her mouth.  Icky.   It wasn't any big deal—she
typically didn't eat sweet breakfasts.

But now,  the baby-barfs started happening even when she
didn't eat something sweet.   They even happened when she
wasn't bending over.  No big deal.
Barfing

Where Jo Beth barfs, but only a little.

Why is this chapter here?
Bloody vomit and floor-spitting first,
and THEN this?  How anticlimactic can
you get?
