There were a couple of teensy new problems:

Jo Beth's hearing began to give her trouble.  Her family was
driven crazy by her constant requests to repeat what was said,
and by her need to crank up the TV volume.

She had an exam, and was told there was absolutely nothing
wrong.

Her voice began to give her trouble.  She was hoarse all day
long.  She could no longer sing in church, or at night to her
children, or just because she felt happy--which made her
really, really, really sad.

She had an exam, and was told there was absolutely nothing
wrong.
The Deafness, or Not.  The Hoarseness, or Not.

Where Jo Beth has absolutely nothing wrong with her.
Study Questions:
Why didn't she use TV headphones?
Why didn't she stop talking so much?
The ENT doctor suggested she have
her tonsils removed, even though
they were healthy.
