Despite the pain, Jo Beth began to exercise, to strengthen her
center-mass muscles to help her back, to drop the Cymbalta
weight, and to help strengthen her possibly-weak heart.

Using a zero-impact approach, she skiied her NordicTrac for
30-45 minutes a day,  followed by 15 minutes of
back-strengthening, and 15 of yoga.  She reduced her food
intake to the 1500 calorie a day diabetic reducing diet.

After six weeks on this regimen, her back showed some
improvement, but she hadn't lost one pound.  When she later
told doctors,
