Okay, well, this wasn't the first time this had happened.
Over the years, Jo Beth had learned that there was only one
way to stop the dragon transformation in its tracks.
Brace yourself--this is going to be gross.

First, the hurting tastebud.  Left on it's own, it won't go away.
Jo Beth couldn't take the pain, so she got rid of the source.
Do you need it any more graphic?  Jo Beth sometimes
wondered if, after years of this occasional abuse, her tastes in
food had changed along with her reduced number of tastebuds.

Next, the trailing, extremely painful whiskers.  This one was
really hard to face.  Jo Beth pinched them off.  OWWW!!!
A tiny bit of bleeding, but by the next morning, a perfectly
normal tongue.  A day later, her palate was back to normal,
too.   What caused this, and why could it be cured this way?

Who the heck knows.  Just another autocidal mystery.

Should Jo Beth have gone to a doctor
about this?
Are you kidding?  If they pooh-poohed
bloody vomit, how seriously would
they take Creepy Dragon Tongue?
