An Ear-rific Doctor

Where Jo Beth lies.  Or is she telling the truth?
Study Questions:
Who wonders if the doctor was right?
Who wants a poke with a pointy stick?
A few weeks back, during the pre-surgery check before her
shoulder's  scar tissue was to be ripped free, Jo Beth had
asked the internist to take a look in her left ear.  She'd had
on-again off-again symptoms for a couple of months:  pain, a
stuffed feeling, and then perfectly fine again.

The doctor had been surprised to find scar tissue built up on
her left eardrum.  As usual, no explanation for what had
caused the symptom to appear.  Just another autocidal
mystery.  Although the doctor, of course, had asked if Jo Beth
had been poking things in her ear.  And had then asked her
again even after she denied it.

Nice, doc--Real nice.
Maybe I'll be able to hear better if
I poke a long pointy stick in there!
EhhH?  What's that you say?
