Today, Jo Beth is taking antidepressants and seeing a
therapist.  By the time she came to this point, she had been
bursting into tears at work, living surrounded by unsorted
papers, and been diagnosed with severe clinical depression.

The pills and therapy are helping, but adding to her
depression now is the fact that she will have no insurance
coverage after her pending divorce.  Those of us with autocidal
diseases are considered uninsurable.  Jo Beth's medications
alone will run about $400 a month.  She's already spent as
much as $1000 in a single month on medical costs, not
including meds.  How will she survive?

Jo Beth will be left with high medical expenses, half the
family debt--including her unforgiven teacher loan--to pay
down, and only one-quarter of her pre-lupus salary.

And what about companionship?
